In recent years, this type of machine has entered with force in the automotive, aeronautic, hydraulic and general mechanical engineering sectors. Increasingly sought after, in these applications, are washing machines that are integrated in the automated island process with the characteristics of mechanical precision, versatility of interface with the surrounding automation systems and high production and quality efficiency in order to meet the ever more stringent cleaning requirements. The rotary table is the combination of all these features together in a small space and therefore it is easily incorporated in the lay-out. The operating principle calls for a table in multiple positions (typically 4-6-8) that moves in cadenced angular fractions, leading the pieces to be washed to as many stations equipped to perform a sequence of treatments. The table, worked by machine tools, is moved by an intermittent enveloping cam which is high speed and has decimal precision, in each of the positions; the table has equipment for holding pieces that can be euro pallets or normal pallets, or a device with pneumatic clamp, or a device capable of imparting rotation. The loading and unloading of the pieces can take place in one position or in two adjacent positions and may be carried out manually or by robots. Inside, within the various stations, is the washing equipment, which can operate with pressures up to 400 bar and can be of a high flow generic type, or of a calibrated type with predetermined masks, or even of an automated type. The process may be a simple washing and drying, but may also be performed with rinses, demineralised water, etc.

The rotary table with stepper motor described above, due to its structure and precision, may call for the use of a robot in one of the stations that allows a targeted treatment in all cavities, blind holes, lubrication ducts, undercuts, etc. The washing robot is an anthropomorphic robot with 6-axis, with loads at the wrist and variable outreach dimensions depending on the piece and the application; it is a machine with IP67 protection characteristics, however, for washing applications, it is further protected with a full sheath specially designed to provide a watertight seal. Depending on the treatment to be performed, different working pressures, even up to 400 Bar, and various "tools" can be used, managed automatically by the robot that collects and deposit them as required from a special warehouse we have designed. It is clear that such versatility does not limit the flexibility of the system and the quality of treatment that is necessary to achieve. Our systems, unique in this aspect, are able to automatically manage washing "tools" (nozzles with different shapes, flow rates and spraying arrangements) and mechanical deburring "tools" (rotating brushes, discs, hole cleaners, etc.).
